Les Gorges du Chambon - a family campsite
We welcome you to our family campsite - run by our family for couples, families and friends who appreciate the simpler things in life.
The 28 hectare estate lies in a tranquil countryside setting where nature flourishes…naturally ! The campsite is in a beautiful setting overlooking a meander in the Tardoire river.
Actvities, facilities and services for a relaxing family holiday
You can choose from a number of nature orientated sports onsite : walking, mountain-biking, horseriding, canoeing, climbing, river and lake fishing, and river-swimming.
Other onsite activities include a swimming pool, tennis court, mini-golf, football, and beach volley.
Nearby activities include go-karting, golf and horse-riding amongst others.
A range of onsite facilities and services will ensure you get the most from your holiday: restaurant, bar, take-away, kid's club, family entertainment, organised visits, internet access, shop and morning bread.
A choice of accommodation - camping, mobile-homes, chalets and a gite
The campsite has 120 pitches in total most being for campers with tents and caravans with some accommodating our own ready-erected tents. We also offer accommodation in our mobile-homes and chalets as well a 2-star gite : all can be rented directly with us.
You have a choice of sunny, part-shaded or shaded pitches.
Charente, Limousin and green Perigord
Les Gorges du Chambon is situated on the edge of the Charente region and only 10 kms from Limousin and 6 km from the Dordogne and it's green Perigord granite landscapes. The nearest major towns area cities are Limoges and Perigueux, both approximately 80kms away.
Angoulème, a smaller city reknowed for it's Comic book festival is 40 km by car, whilst Cognac, well known for the spirit of the same name is also within driving distance.
Other possible excursions include visits to La Rochelle, Ile de Ré, Ile d'Oléron, Saintes and Royan.
Our region has plentiful sunshine and does not suffer from inland heatwaves ! Nights are cool and refreshing.
