We are at the gateway to the Périgord area, where producing quality products is an art-form.

Gorges du Chambon campsite market : regional products
Every Tuesday evening from 6.30pm to 8.00pm there is a small market at the campsite with a Foie Gras producer, a Pineau maker, pancakes and galettes, organic fruit and vegetables, cakes and jams..(all are local and make quality products)
Bric-a-bracs
There are numerous Bric a Bracs that take place in villages round the area and we keep a list of these at reception.
Hang-gliding
There are several associations that offer introductions to hang-gliding; you can get information from the Tourist Office at Villebois Lavalette.
Railway line cycles
Along disused railway lines, you can ‘cycle’ on a 3 seater pedal cycle car for 15km. Great fun for all the family.
Water Sports
Rafting – in the valley of the River Vienne (35km)
Sailing – on the Lac de Lavaud in the Haute Charente
Swimming – in 3 nearby lakes, Lavaud, St. Estèphe and St. Mathieu
River boat – you can go down the River Charente in a boat; you can hire a boat for a half-day or a day. It’s an ideal way of showing the children how the lock system works, as they will have to open and close them themselves.
Visiting wine producers
We’ve got a preferential arrangement with Remy Martin (Cognac): you can visit the site on a little train and see the vines, the stills and the cellars and finish with a tasting session. Highly recommended.
We can also give you a list of other wine and pineau producers who will welcome you with pleasure.
You can also visit Foie Gras producers.
Golf
We are lucky enough to have an 18 hole golf course 6km from the campsite. The course is quite tricky but set in magnificent countryside.
We have negotiated preferential rates for our campers.

Discotheque
There are 2 discos within a 12km radius from here, at Marthon and at Massignac.
Cinema
There are 3 cinemas nearby, at Marthon, Nontron and La Rochefoucauld. For the multi-screen cinemas you have to go to Angoulême.
Go-Karting
Right in the middle of the forest you can do go-karting at Teyjat, 8km from here. The site is really exceptional.
